Crunchy...

I'm in the throws of the twelve days of Christmas on my Countdown to Christmas. Today was ten lords a leaping. I can't even begin to tell you how much trouble I had with that image. Today I'm working on twelve drummers drumming. If it gives me half the trouble that the lords gave me... I won't get to do a new IF image.

So I thought I might cheat a bit. This image is part of my countdown to Christmas, but it has been posted there yet.

Candy canes have a great crunch to them. I think this little guy is going to enjoy crunching his candy cane.

  1. It works perfectly!!!

I am loving your 12 Days of Christmas, too! The lords a leaping looks great. I love all the interesting shapes created by the arms and clothing and I think you are doing a great job on this overall. I like your style and color sense and also the way you mix traditional with contemporary ideas.

I look forward to seeing the next one!

  2. Thanks Ann Marie! Honestly if I had really thought about this project I would never have started it. Or at least, I would never have thought about it so late in the season.

I had always wanted to do my own take on the 12 days of Christmas, and this has been very satisfying for me.

The animals that will start to appear, including this little guy are based on some pictures I took at the Portland Zoo. I always take pictures at zoos but never really do anything with the images. I thought I would make them a little more festive this year. This little sheep was a real charmer. He had poked his little head around a post for me to snap a picture. He was so smiley and sweet.

  5. Thanks Jeff! OMG I literally teared up when I read my style is recognizable. I don't know that I have the words for how much that meant to me especially from someone who's style I admire so intensely.

I knew the second I started the twelve days of Christmas I wanted to do the Rockettes for the ladies dancing! And I knew it had to be glitter intensive.

Thanks for all of your support Jeff!

  8. Thank you Sally! I had fun with this little guy. I took a photo of this sheep at the zoo and he was charming. He peeked his little face around a post and posed for a photo for me.
